Legal Assistance to the Disadvantaged Committee

Purpose

To encourage lawyers to participate in local volunteer attorney and judicare programs, and to support statewide programs providing civil legal assistance to people who would otherwise be unable to afford it.

Goals

Continue educating lawyers about Rule 6.1 and the need for pro bono services. Assist with funding of legal services to the disadvantaged. Continue support for law school public service programs. Develop, maintain and promote ProJusticeMN to facilitate recruitment, training, substantive support, communication, and case placement for pro bono in Minnesota. Provide oversight for legal services state planning.
