Report and Recommendation on AAA


Recommendation:

The MSBA should offer the AAA Corporate Membership Program to members as part of its MSBAdvantage program.

Overview of AAA Program:

The American Automobile Association was established in 1902.  In addition to offering roadside assistance and travel services, AAA has been involved in fighting for better roads, traffic safety, and energy issues. AAA has over 80 clubs operating around the globe.

 

Opportunity:

The AAA Corporate Membership program would be a new turn-key affinity program for the MSBA.

 

MSBA members receive a discount of 10% off base membership fees.  In addition the enrollment fee is waived for first time AAA members.  Other discounts are provided based on product, for instance upgrades, adding a spouse or dependent, etc. Attached to this document is a price breakdown for AAA membership.

 

MSBA members who are already AAA members prior to an agreement are still eligible for discounts on their renewal fees.

 

In addition to roadside assistance and car rental discounts, AAA members receive discounts at hundreds of other businesses including hotels, Target, Barnes and Noble, and also on Minnesota Twins tickets. This is not a revenue share program.
