You be the judge!

Volunteer to judge mock trials today.

Every year, 600 attorneys and judges are needed to act as competition judges in the MSBA High School Mock Trial Program.

  • Training is provided for those who will be acting as competition judges.  This year’s training will be held on December 14, 2007 at 3 pm at the MSBA office in Minneapolis, MN.  CLE Credit will be applied for.
  • Some volunteers judge one trial and some judge multiple trials, depending on their availability and interest.
  •  In preparation for judging, volunteers are expected to read through the case materials and be prepared to either preside or score at the trial.
  • Trials are held in courthouses across the state and are about two hours in length. The competition begins with the first round of trials the week of January 22 and concludes after five rounds of regional play with the State Tournament in St. Paul, MN on March 11th & 12th, 2008.
  • Trials held in the metro area are usually held in the evenings; those in greater Minnesota are usually held during the business day.
