The MSBA's ADR Section Presents
"Can the Political Differences in the Minnesota Legislature be Mediated?"
Join the ADR Section for its monthly meeting (this month held at the University of St. Thomas School of Law). Two legislators from both sides of the "aisle" will discuss the manner in which political issues were negotiated and addressed by them and their constituents at the state level during the recent legislative session and state shut down. The program and speakers will explore and explain what seemed to be intractable dispute resolution mindsets and decisions of each side (versus the specific politics behind those ADR process decision), and how these competing (or similar) ideologies can potentially be aligned or overcome in the interest of making progress toward constructive decision making in our State in the future. This moderated interactive discussion will provide attendees an opportunity to hear from those that were there. A question and answer session will be a part of the presentation.
