The MSBA's Animal Law Section Presents
"Preparing for Dangerous Animal Hearings"
A dangerous animal hearing is more than an informal chat with the local animal control officer – it is an adjudication that can result in financial penalty, restrictions on keeping animals, and/or the death of a companion animal.
Learn how to prepare for a dangerous animal hearing from one of Minnesota's best known animal law attorneys, Marshall H. Tanick.
Mr. Tanick's most recent dangerous animal case, Nelson v. City of St. Paul, No. A09-1427, 2010 WL 1850829 (Minn. App. May 11, 2010) challenged the "dangerous animal" designation given to a dog that bit to defend itself against an intoxicated woman who slapped and punched the dog on two separate occasions.
