The MSBA's Art & Entertainment Law Section Presents
Ethics of the Fair Use Doctrine:
Protecting the Copyright Holder in the Classroom
This program will focus on the historical purpose of the Fair Use Doctrine and evolution of the law. It will also address recent rulings regarding the use of “previews” of E-Databases, enterprises licenses for tablets on campus (students and educators), and other new technology concerns and discuss the balance of protecting the copyright holder and preventing the suppression of innovation and learning. The conclusion of the presentation will address the pros/cons of possible outcomes of the various Circuit rulings on the issue.
Lunch will be provided. Teleconferencing and webcasting is available.
