"Views from the Bench with Judge Sanberg"
During this lively Q&A session Judge Sanberg will speak about her experience on the bench including her thoughts about the practice of bankruptcy law, the "dos" and "don'ts" when in her courtroom and she will field questions from the audience regarding bankruptcy issues.
Judge Kathleen Hvass Sanberg
Judge Kathleen Hvass Sanberg was sworn in as a US Bankruptcy Judge on August 24, 2012. Prior to her appointment as bankruptcy judge, Judge Sanberg's was a tax court judge from 2001 to 2012. Judge Sanberg is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and the U of M law school. Immediately prior to her tax court judgeship, Judge Sanberg was a partner at Faegre & Benson, practicing in the areas of bankruptcy, loan workouts, debtor-creditor relations and litigation. In May 2012, Judge Sanberg received the 2012 Myra Bradwell Award from Minnesota Women Lawyers. The Myra Bradwell Award is presented to a MWL member who expresses the highest ideals of courage, perseverance and leadership on issues of concern to women in the legal profession. She must possess the qualities exemplified by Myra Bradwell (a pioneer in the legal and journalism professions).
