The MSBA's Construction Law Section Presents


"Effective Appellate Advocacy"

With its recent decision in Engineering & Construction Innovations, Inc. v. L.H. Bolduc Co., the Minnesota Supreme Court has once again forayed into the area of construction law. Our speaker, Justice David R. Stras, will provide an inside look into effectively presenting your case to the state’s highest court.

Justice David R. Stras became a member of the Minnesota Supreme Court on July 1, 2010.  His current term expires in January 2019.  Prior to joining the court, Justice Stras was a Professor of Law at the University of Minnesota.  Justice Stras also has extensive experience in the field of appellate litigation: he practiced appellate litigation with the Washington D.C. firm of Sidley Austin Brown & Wood LLP (now Sidley Austin LLP) and the Minneapolis firm of Faegre & Benson LLP (now Faegre Baker & Daniels LLP), clerked for two judges on the United States Court of Appeals, and clerked for the Honorable Clarence Thomas of the Supreme Court of the United States.

Cancellation Policy:

Refunds will be processed for cancellation requests received in writing on or before noon on the registration deadline. Requests should be directed to the event contact person listed at the bottom of this notice. Cancellation requests received after this time are not eligible for refunds. You may send a colleague in your place if you are unable to join us and the registration deadline has passed.
