The MSBA's Consumer Litigation Section Presents
Consumer Litigation Section Annual Meeting and CLE:
"Perspective from the Bench - Consumer Litigation"
The Honorable Donovan W. Frank, U.S. District Judge, District of Minnesota
Please join the MSBA Consumer Litigation Section at our annual meeting CLE entitled, "Perspective from the Bench," featuring Minnesota District Court Judge Donovan Frank as he discusses his judicial perspective on consumer law cases, including attorney best practices when presenting or defending consumer cases. Judge Frank will also be available to answer audience questions.
The Consumer Litigation Section focuses on consumer protection laws and financial regulations - both state and federal - and their impact on the individuals and companies those laws regulate. With the recent economic crisis, more and more consumer are exercising their legal rights under a variety of financially-related laws, e.g. FDCPA, FCRA, UDAP, RESPA, TILA, and state foreclosure and consumer protection laws. As lawsuits progress through our court systems, judges are charged with deciding what constitutes a violation, and what remedies are available to consumers. Additionally, the Consumer Litigation Section aims to educate and promote an exchange of ideas among all practitioners in their area: plaintiff, defense, and corporate.
