The MSBA's Criminal Law Section Presents
"Sentencing Guidelines: Policies and other sentencing considerations for Felony Driving While Impaired and Controlled Substance Offenses"
This CLE will cover special consideration that needs to be given to felony DWI and felony drug sentencing. Discussion will include how enhancing offenses are used in criminal history and consecutive sentencing considerations for a felony DWI, and presumptive and mandatory provisions for felony controlled substance offenses.
Laura Rosenthal , Ramsey County Attorney’s Office
Laura Rosenthal received her undergraduate and law degrees from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Upon graduation, she joined the Boston law firm of Hare & Chaffin, where she specialized in corporate compliance and commercial litigation. In 2000, she joined Jostens, Inc. as a corporate attorney, where she specialized in corporate compliance, litigation, and transactional law. In 2002, Ms. Rosenthal joined the law firm of Kelly & Jacobsen, where she specialized in white-collar criminal defense and corporate compliance. Ms. Rosenthal is presently a prosecutor in the Adult Criminal Division of the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office. She has a Master of Business Administration in Management and Business Ethics from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. She also holds a Graduate Degree in Business Ethics from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Linda McBrayer , Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines Commission
Linda McBrayer is a Management Analyst with the Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines Commission. Ms. McBrayer has been with the Sentencing Guidelines since April of 2001 and has been conducting guidelines trainings since May of 2003.
