The MSBA's Employee Benefits Law Section Presents

"Do 401(k) Plans Provide Retirement Income for Life?"

As the baby boomers retire, more will be doing so with only a 401(k) plan account.  This panel discussion will take stock of 401(k) plans and retirement security.  The Department of the Treasury and IRS have indicated their interest in making a lifetime stream of payments more available in 401k plans.  The speakers will review options to provide a lifetime stream of payments inside and outside of a 401(k) plan as well as how different products address different plan and participant needs.  The speakers will also discuss questions an employer should consider and the legal issues with respect to a lifetime stream of payments.
