Learn about Cooperative Practice, an ADR method wherein clients and counsel formalize their willingness to cooperate through a formal participation agreement that outlines the process for information gathering as well as includes selected negotiation models and dispute resolution mechanisms. Learn how Cooperative Practice recognizes that the court may be a valuable resource in helping parties move towards closure.

Tara L. Smith Ruesga is an Associate Attorney at Walling, Berg & Debele, P.A. in Minneapolis, MN where her practice is devoted to family law, including dissolution, child custody, and child support matters. She is a 2009 graduate of William Mitchell College of Law, and a founding member of the Cooperative Practice Network of Minnesota, Inc. Prior to joining the practice of law, Tara worked for twelve years as a manufacturers' representative for commercial building products in the six-state, upper Midwest territory. The Domestic Abuse Committee will meet from 12:15 p.m. – 1:30 pm.
