2004-05 Annual Report

The Food and Drug Law Section’s primary activity is sponsoring CLEs for the local food and drug bar. The section sponsored one CLE and co-sponsored another CLE this year. The section sponsored a luncheon CLE on February 24, 2005, “Update from the FDA District Office,” with Tom Warwick, Director of the Compliance Branch, FDA District Office, as featured speaker. Approximately 30 people, most of them section members, attended the CLE, which is always a popular event for those looking for an update from the FDA district office.

The section also co-sponsored a 3-credit CLE with Medical Alley/MNBio, on March 16, 2005, “Clinical Trial Agreements: Best Practices for Contracting with Hospitals and Doctors.” Featured speakers were Bob Klepinski, Klepinski & DuVal; Kathleen Meyerle, Mayo Clinic; Kathleen DiGiorno, Medtronic; and Scot Milchman, Guidant Corp. Over 100 people attended the CLE.
