Introduction

With over 800 members, the Labor and Employment Law Section is one of the largest Sections of the MSBA. The Section provides to its members:

  • In-depth information on labor and employment law issues through newsletters, two annual institutes, and many presentations and CLE offerings.
  • Opportunities to meet with and build a network of contacts through seminars, committees and events.

ProJusticeMN.org is Minnesota’s online resource for attorneys providing pro bono legal services.  The Website provides volunteer lawyers access to:

  • Monthly Newsletter | JustNews -The Minnesota Legal Services Coalition newsletter, JustNews, contains feature articles on poverty law topics, legal aid and volunteer attorney case notes. 
  • Volunteer Opportunities Guide – Find pro bono work with organizations that suit your abilities and needs. Searches can be refined by area of law (including labor and employment), location and hours of pro bono opportunities.
  • Practice Area Libraries – The website has been broken down into four practice areas (with a fourth recently added!): Civil, Family, and Immigration Law. These libraries provide access to resources helpful to attorneys doing volunteer work.  The civil law practice area has extensive resources in the areas of Labor and Employment law. 
  • Calendars – The calendars contain a list of CLE and other events, relevant to the website's practice areas.
  • NEW  Real Estate Practice Area – The MSBA and MLSC worked with the Volunteer Lawyers Network (VLN) to build a practice area around equity stripping and foreclosure defense. 

ProJusticeMN.org members receive all of these benefits at no charge!  Members of ProJusticeMN.org will be approved only if they do pro bono or legal aid work and agree only to use to website for their pro bono or legal aid work.
