Mediations
I have more than eight years of mediation experience. I have mediated
more than 300 cases including workplace, school, family business,
commercial and family matters. My focus has been upon labor and
employment matters dealing with a broad range of issues. I have
mediated EEO and human rights cases involving all protected classes.
Familiarity and Experience with State and Federal Labor
and Employment Laws
My work for 22 years as a contract ALJ, mediator and arbitrator
has focused upon labor and employment matters. I have taken numerous
courses presented by a variety of continuing education providers
(including panels upon which I serve AAA, FMCS, State Office
of Dispute Resolution, USPS REDRESS) concerning the array of federal
and state labor and employment laws including EEO, Title 7, ADEA,
ADA, IDEA and the State Human Rights Act. I have heard and decided
more than 125 labor and employment cases in addition to my mediation
experience reflected above.
Other Factors Relevant to Ability to Mediate Employment
Disputes
I am committed to the process, and have the ability to facilitate
complete and creative solutions. I have worked in mediation with
parties and counsel who reflect a variety of negotiation styles
and with varying levels of experience in mediation. I understand
the impact of cultural differences upon mediation. I have planned
and provided training and presentations to several groups and
for CLE providers concerning mediation and ethics in mediation
and arbitration.
