Familiarity and Experience with State and Federal Labor and Employment Laws
I limit my practice to the areas of employment, labor and personal injury. In that regard, I regularly handle client matters governed by Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, the Minnesota Human Rights Act, Whistleblower laws, the NLRA, etc. I regularly speak at seminars for labor groups and lawyers on these and other employment and labor topics. I co-author a regular feature in Minnesota Trial Lawyer magazine on employment law.

Factors Relevant to Ability to Mediate Employment Disputes
I enjoy mediating cases and helping parties resolve disputes. Both defense and plaintiff counsel appreciate my style and my ability to get to the heart of the dispute, while dealing sensitively with the underlying issues. Early in my 15-year career, I worked as an in-house company lawyer representing the interests of management in employment and personnel matters. Since then, I have represented the interests of working people in employment, labor and personal injury matters. I am on the faculty at the University of Minnesota’s Labor Education Service, teaching classes on such topics as the FMLA and the ADA. I have also been selected by my peers as a “Super Lawyer” for Mpls./St. Paul, Twin City Business Monthly, and Minnesota Law and Politics magazines.
