The Section partnered with William Mitchell College of Law’s Hachey Initiative to present a forum on outstate practice opportunities and lifestyle for law students. Following the panel discussion, the Section hosted a reception for law students and attorneys.
The Section surveyed its membership about development of a mentoring program for new lawyers. The Section plans to partner with the New Lawyers Section on a future mentoring program, matching new lawyers and experienced practitioners by geographic area and practice area.

MSBA Outstate Practice Section
1997-98 Annual Report
During January of 1998 the Outstate Practice Section distributed a member directory to all members of the section. It is hoped that the distribution of this directory will encourage members of the MSBA who practice in the outstate area to establish and maintain professional relations with each other.
The section is asking any members practicing in the outstate to indicate their interest in serving on the Section Board or on any activities on behalf of the section. Interested members should contact Section Chair Michael J. Ford.
