The MSBA's Marketing & Client Services Section has a new name and an expanded mission. It became the Practice Management & Marketing Section April 20, when the Board of Governors approved its renaming and combination with the Law Practice Management Committee.

The section's purpose now includes "to inquire into the ways and means of ethical and effective law practice management, law practice marketing and promotion, and to explore how changes in the legal profession, society and technology may affect law practice management and marketing now and in the future."

The Practice Management and Marketing Section hopes to provoke exchange of information and ideas on variety of topics important to current and future law practice. Activities will include discussions and presentations about issues for which there are no "right" answers, and forums for sharing information about how law is practiced and how law practices can be improved. Programs also will address how attorneys and clients can find each other efficiently and effectively and develop and maintain good relationships.

The section will also continue to manage content for the law marketing site of Practicelaw.org, and continue to oversee the MSBA's highly successful SoloSmall E-mail discussion List, which the Law Practice Management committee has sponsored to date.

Annual section dues are $20 for the 2007-2008 fiscal year.
