Client Security Board Year End Report
On July 1, 2011, I began serving as a board member of the Minnesota Client Security Board, following nomination by the MSBA and approval by the Supreme Court. When another Public Law Section member suggested that I seek appointment to the Client Security Board when Harriet Sims’ term expired, I enthusiastically pursued this opportunity. After approximately a year and a half as a Board member, I find the Board’s work extremely interesting, and I am honored to be in a position to help individuals who have suffered financial losses due to attorneys‘ dishonesty. Public Law Section Seeks Nominations for 2013 Public Attorney Awards
The Minnesota State Bar Association-Public Law Section (PLS) invites nominations for awards honoring attorneys and judges engaged in public service and in the public practice of law. Through these awards the PLS celebrates our commitment to public service and the public practice of law. These awards are also used to recognize attorneys and judges who have distinguished themselves by their significant and outstanding contributions to public service and the public practice of law. Nominations are due April 1, 2013.

Adopt A Family
The Public Law Section sponsored six families this holiday season through Catholic Charities. The Minneapolis Public Schools General Counsel's Office sponsored one of the families. Loaves and Fishes
On December 5, 2012, PLS members and friends prepared dinner for 300+ people for Loaves and Fishes at Holy Rosary church in south Minneapolis. Volunteers are always needed for this project on the first Wednesdays of even-numbered months. Our next L & F project is on Wed. Feb. 6. We cook and set up from 3-5. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Nancy McLean at firstname.lastname@example.org.
