The MSBA's Solo and Small Firm Section Presents
Annual Meeting, Elections and CLE
"Small Firm Practice Issues Affected by Insurance: Are we really in good hands?"
Please join us for the MSBA Solo and Small Firm Section's annual meeting, elections and end-of-year CLE program. Lunch will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m. and will include the Section's annual meeting and elections. All Section members are encouraged to attend either in-person or via phone.
The event will feature a timely CLE program regarding small firm practice issues affected by insurance. A panel will use scenarios to walk through these issues and help answer the question: Are we really in good hands?
Specific issues include:
- “total loss” claim issues under first party property coverage grants;
- application of the Viktora test for determining insured status of household residents;
- using the administrative process to object to cancellation of a policy, and then a writ of certiorari to appeal;
- appealing a health care insurance denial; and
- insurance agent liability for misrepresentation of coverage.
We hope you'll join us for networking, professional development, a delicious meal and the Section's final business meeting of the year!
